When the guide has picked you up at your hotel in Marrakech, you will start this exciting 2-day tour in which you will live an unforgettable experience knowing the Merzouga desert and the most charming corners of its surroundings.
You will begin your 2 day sahara desert tour Marrakech to Fes through Tizi n'Tichka, a network of winding roads that run more than 2,200 meters high, as they cross part of the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will meet Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive kasbah with buildings made of adobe that has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
After knowing one of the most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco and crossing the city of Ouarzazate, you will travel part of the famous Route of the Thousand Kasbahs until you reach Skuora, a city famous for housing the Kasbah Amridil, a 17th century fortified enclosure that has been inhabited until a few decades ago.
Then, you will arrive at Kelaa M'Gouna, a city located within the Valley of the Roses, a beautiful natural environment full of different types of roses that fill the atmosphere with a bewitching smell.
Then, you will enter the heart of the Dades Valley that will take you to get to know in depth the landscape of the Dades Gorges, an impressive canyon in the center of Morocco. Within this canyon you will be taken to the area known as the Todra Gorges, a corner where the steep rocky walls exceed 150 meters high.
After lunch, you will embark on the journey to Erfoud through a valley of palm trees. Once there, you will walk through the famous souk this city to see the curious pieces of local crafts and even several fossil specimens.
In the afternoon, they will take you to Merzouga to enjoy a camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets behind the endless sea of desert dunes, you will fall in love with the breathtaking view you will have before your eyes. After the walk, you will arrive at the camp, where a delicious dinner with a cup of traditional tea will be waiting for you. After witnessing an authentic show with Berber music, you will spend your first night in the desert.
You will wake up early to enjoy one of the most beautiful moments of this 2-day sahara desert tour Marrakech to Fes: sunrise in the desert. You will get on a camel to take a walk through the dunes while the sun rises over the sky and then you will return to the camp for breakfast.
When finished, you will start a trip through the city of Rissani, known for its colorful spice market. You will also visit the Ziz Valley and the Ziz Gorges, an arid landscape where the green color of the valley vegetation contrasts with the brown tones of the canyon.
After lunch in the Middle Atlas mountains, you will visit the city of Azrou, known for its famous monkey forest, and Ifrán, a curious European-looking Moroccan city located more than 1,700 meters high. The moment you see its picturesque houses, you will understand why many know it as "little Switzerland".

You won't need a sleeping bag on our Morocco tours as for the most part you'll be staying in 3-4 star hotels and our desert camp provides all the bedding you need including pillows and blankets. For your own personal comfort, you may wish to bring a sleeping bag liner to use at the desert camp.

We journey there by camel for an authentic Berber experience. The camel trek is about an hour and a half. If you prefer to walk then you can walk alongside our camel caravan but bear in mind that walking in sand can be tiring.

Yes, travellers who are not intrested in camel ride and want to spend night in the desert, we transfer them by 4WD to the desert camp.
